Dorothy M. ‘Dot’ Dwyer, 91 of Luxor, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018. She was born December 28, 1926 in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Daniel W. Reed and Florence W. (Woods) Reed. Dot was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all.

She was an active member of Luxor United Methodist Church for 73 years and had made many friends there. She read her bible daily and had a long list of people that she prayed for daily. Dorothy’s smile and caring ways will forever be remembered.

Dot had belonged to the Luxor Firemen’s Auxiliary. She was also very proud to have been a past president of the Hannastown School PTA. She enjoyed sewing and made many of her own clothes.

Dot could often be found in the kitchen, as she was an excellent cook and baker. She was also known for sending lots of letters and cards to family and friends that always ended in her trademark, “Smile God loves you”. Dot was a devoted wife and mother that also worked various jobs throughout her life when necessary.

She had fond memories and worked at Rand’s Drug Store, for June Culligan’s Babysitting Service, and also for Isleys. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Dwyer; two brothers, James R. and Thomas J. Reed; five sisters, Myrtle M. Beaken, Evelyn L. Wahl, Margaret Kubicek, Olive E. Perkey, and Virginia M. Carmichael; mother-in-law, Catherine Dwyer; and son-in-law, George A. Mesich. Dot will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Surviving are her daughter, Florence ‘Sis’ Mesich; son, David Dwyer and wife, Julie; two grandchildren, George D. Mesich and Heather Schultz and husband, Denny; and two great grandchildren, Nina and Macy Schultz. Dorothy wanted to give special thanks to all the people at Meals on Wheels, especially Chris who delivered her meals. She also wanted to thank her nieces and nephews and relatives for being there for her, all the folks at the church for their prayers, cards, and phone calls, to Dr. George Hunter and his staff.

Thank you to all her special friends in Carlisle: Mary and her extra grandchildren Carol and Roxanne Hammond. A very special thank you to her special neighbors, the Walker Family: Leo, Vicky, Chris, and Katelyn and to Darlene and Bruce Anthony for always helping her and looking out for her. God Bless You All.

“Smile God Loves You”. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 1pm to 6pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg where services will be held on Monday at 11am. Interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park.
