Pearl I. Starner, age 94 of York Springs, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at The Gettysburg Center in Gettysburg. She was born Saturday, July 14, 1923, in New Chester, the daughter of the late Harvey E. and Bessie E. (Hoffman) Dennis. Pearl was formerly employed by C.H. Musselman in Biglerville, for 16 years.

She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to Atlantic City, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband of 64 years, Cornelius S. Starner passed in 2005 and her daughter Carolyn (Sue) Decker in 2012. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda E. and husband Larry Ahlers of York Springs, Crystal D. and fiancé Kip Spangler of York Springs, four sons, Rodney J. and wife Cheryl Starner of New Oxford, Nathan H. and wife Kathy Starner of York Springs, Grover S. and wife Debbie Starner of Dillsburg, Charles C. and wife Diane Starner of Gardners, 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one sister, Elsie P. Cool of Biglerville.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Grace E. Guise, Beulah A. Buckley, Paul (Pete) Dennis, Mary Shelleman, Curvin Dennis, Sr., Annie Matthews, John Dennis, Nellie Dennis and Merle Dennis. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 S/ Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 11, at St. Johns United Church of Christ, 2243 Hunterstown-Hampton Road, New Oxford with Reverend Doug Hahn officiating.

Interment will be in The Pines Cemetery. A viewing will be held at St. Johns United Church of Christ on Tuesday, April 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to York Springs Fire Company, PO Box 315, York Springs, PA 17372.
