Peggy Parsley age 83 of Smithville passed away Wednesday evening at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital. She was born October 12, 1934 to her parents, the late Albert Lee and Flora Ruth Trusty Hooper. Peggy is the wife of James Clayton Parsley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Maureen Florida, Doris Cripps, Faye Trotter Rawls and Milas Hibdon; brother, Hoyte Hooper and infant brother, Eugene Hooper. Peggy was a member of the Banks Cumberland Presbyterian Church and worked many years in the shirt factory and was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, James Clayton Parsley of Smithville; 2 sons, Lloyd Blish of Dayton and Larry Blish of Smithville; 5 step-sons, Donnie and Ricky Parsley both of Goodlettsville, Ted Parsley of McMinnville, Scott Parsley of Nashville and Jason Parsley of Panama City, FL; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Bill (WJ) Poss and Dean Johnson both of Smithville and Sue Banker of Sparta; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:PM Saturday, June 2, 2018 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Greg Whaley officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Friday 12 Noon until 8PM and Saturday 10AM until the time of the service at 2:PM.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
