Peggy Spencer Campbell January 20, 1938 – February 11, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries Peggy Spencer Campbell, age 81, of Charlottesville, was lifted in the arms of her Lord on Monday, February 11, 2019, at Martha Jefferson Hospital. Mrs. Campbell was the wife of Jesse William Campbell. Jesse and Peggy were married for 63 years.

She was one of the 14 children of the late Oscar Neville Spencer and the late Minnie Hestelle Mawyer Spencer. Peggy was a graduate of Albemarle High School, a member of Alberene Baptist Church for over 50 years, and an employee of Bank of America, formerly People’s Bank for 39 years. Peggy was a loyal UVA sports fan.

Along with her husband, Peggy is survived by her four children, Jeffrey D. Campbell and wife, Kathie, Allen W. Campbell and wife, Kaye, Kevin S. Campbell and wife, Lauri, and Charlotte Ragland and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Kenyth and fiancee, Amanda, Keyth and wife, Erica, Hannah, Ryan, Pinki Anderson and husband, Walter, Kaleb, Erin Ragland, Monica Morris and husband, Jamie; great-grandchildren, Ayden, Chase, OIivia, McKenzie, and McKinley; and a special niece, Joanne Sprouse. Peggy was preceded in death by seven brothers and six sisters. The family would like to thank MJH staff and Dr. Nicholas Brandt for their care and compassion in the care of Peggy.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Hill & Wood Funeral Home, Charlottesville. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Peggy’s memory to the local Alzheimer’s Association at www. alz.org.
