Miriam Josephine Camp Green October 23, 1920 – January 28, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries Miriam Josephine Camp Green, age 98, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 28, 2019. She was born on October 23, 1920 in Billings, Montana to the late Margaret and Howard Camp. She grew up in Washington State and went to Elma High School.

She then graduated from St. Martin College and later received her nursing degree from St. Peters Hospital. She worked as a nurse for more than 65 years, most of those years spent as either the Administrator or Director of Nursing. She was close to 90 before finally retiring.

She loved to hike, walk, travel, dance and birdwatch. She served as the matriarch to her family of six children, 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Reverend Steven Steele and is survived by her remaining children: Sharon Harrington, Robert Steele, Meg Steele Kosowitz, Mary Steele and Lorry DiCecco.

A private service will be held immediately, followed by a celebration of her life later this year, to which we invite all those whose lives she touched. Details will be posted on this page as they are developed. In lieu of flowers, she requested contributions be made to Church of Our Saviour in Charlottesville, Virginia: www.
