Theodore H. Knee March 25, 1925 – March 21, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Theodore Herman Knee, 93, of Charlottesville, Virginia died on March 21, 2019 at Charlottesville, Virginia. Born March 25, 1925 in Bronx, New York, he was the son of Isadore and Fay Knee. Theodore who was know as Teddy or Ted by most, served in World War ll in the Merchant Marines.

He was a chemical engineer for many years at Monsanto Company in Springfield Massachusetts. He was active for many years with Sinai Temple in Springfield. He was active with the Shriners Hospital for children in Springfield for many years.

He was active with the Jewish War Veterans. He was a volunteer for many years with Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Ted is survived by his wife of 65 years Avie Knee; his daughter Joanne Knee Coleman of Earlysville, Va.

; his son in law, Jeffrey of Earlysville Va. ; his sister, Lenore Herzog of Stamford, Conn. ; and granddaughters, Jenna of California and Rachel of Utah.

Special thank you to the wonderful staff of Albemarle Health and Rehab of Charlottesville, VA for their loving care and friendship to Ted and his wife for the past 3 years. There will be a Jewish funeral service held on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 11 am at Hill and Wood Funeral Home in Charlottesville, VA.
