Alice Virginia Newman White March 27, 1927 – March 06, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries Alice Virginia Newman White, 91, of Charlottesville, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Morningside Assisted living. Alice was born March 27, 1927 to the late George A. Newman and Annie Payne Newman. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Lewis Wilson White, and her brother Samuel Payne Newman.

She is survived by a daughter Pattie White Taylor and her husband William F. Taylor; her granddaughter Lynn Taylor Leathers and her husband, Troy A. Leathers; two great grandsons Aaron R. Leathers and Adam C. Leathers; her brother George Allan Newman and his wife Sue; her sister Waller Ann Newman Norford and numerous nieces and nephews. Alice was a long time member of Cherry Avenue Christian Church and enjoyed the many years she served as director of the adult choir, men’s chorus, and Silver Chords. Visitation will be at Cherry Avenue Christian Church from 5 until 7 pm on Sunday, March 10, 2019.

The funeral service will be at Cherry Avenue Christian Church at 11 am on Monday, March 11, 2019 with Mr. Scott Carter and Mr. Stan Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens. The family would like to thank Morningside Assisted Living, especially Brandy and all the staff of The Bridge for their compassionate loving care.

We also thank Legacy Hospice and Dr. Marisa Christensen for their excellent care.
