Jeffrey Charles Brown, Sr. June 11, 1958 – May 23, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Memorial Donation Jeffrey Charles Brown Sr., of Charlottesville, passed away the morning of May 23, 2019 at The Harbor at Renaissance of Greene County. Born on June 11, 1958, in Charlottesville, VA Jeff was the son of the late Herbert Hoover Brown and Barbara Ann Wideman Brown of Charlottesville. Jeff and his wife Margaret shared thirty-six loving years of marriage.

Jeff was a devoted husband and loving father to his children, Jay and Erinn. Jeff loved all things sports especially UVA and when he was able to play rounds of golf with his Dad and family. Jeff spent over 25 happy years working alongside his father at Herb Brown Volvo.

After the family sold the dealership he ran a successful small business, Blue Ridge Detail. Family and friends will remember Jeff for his generosity, faith, humor, and love for his family. Jeff is survived by his wife, Margaret Elliott Brown of Charlottesville; a son Jeffrey Charles Brown Jr. (Jay) and his wife, Mayan Elgort Brown, and their children Brooks Charles Brown and Linden Caroline Brown of Charlottesville; a daughter Erinn Brown Wilder and her husband, Cody Lee Wilder of Richmond; a sister Jacquelyn Brown Roberts (Jackie) of Waynesboro; a sister Jennifer Leigh Brown of Crozet; a sister-in-law Ellen Elliott Waddell and her husband, A.T. Waddell II and their children, Sarah Elliott Waddell and Addison Tate Waddell III; a sister-in-law Diane Elliott Graves and her husband, Lee Allen Graves of Charlottesville and their daughter, Hunter Allen Graves; a sister-in-law Brenda Elliott Stover of Ruckersville; a brother-in-law Andrew Marshall Elliott and his wife, Linda Thompson Elliott of Charlottesville and their children, the late Joshua Andrew Elliott, Nicholas Ethan Elliott, Andrea Elizabeth Elliott, Matthew James Elliott, and Audrey Rebecca Elliott; nephew, Shawn Christopher Brown Roberts and his wife, Kelly Gurley Roberts and their children, Shawn Christopher Brown Roberts, Jr. (Beau) and Lillie Pearl Roberts of Greenwood; aunt, Mary Jean Wideman Sandy and her late husband Lynwood W. Sandy; cousin, Kim Sandy Teague and her husband, Dr. W. Gerald Teague of Charlottesville; cousin, David Bradford Sandy and his wife, Donna Lilley Sandy of Lyndhurst, and their son David Bradford Sandy (Brad); and other loving family members in Virginia and California.

Jeff’s family extends special thanks to the staff at The Harbor at Renaissance of Greene County for their love, care, and support. Visitation will occur Tuesday May 28, 2019, at 2pm at Belmont Baptist Church in Charlottesville with the memorial service following directly after at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer’s Association at 1807 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville, VA 22901 or the ALS Foundation, 1275 K. St NW #250, Washington, DC 20005.
