Betty Jean Knight July 25, 1941 – May 29, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Memorial Donation Betty Jean Knight, 77, of Ruckersville, Va. , passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 25, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Tommy and Elsie Morris.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart “Lee” Knight; her daughter, Glinda Knight; a brother, Tommy Morris Jr.; and a sister, Shirley Smith. Betty was a member of Swift Run Baptist Church. She loved bowling, Bingo, traveling, and working puzzles.

Betty is survived by her two daughters, Cathy Collier and husband, Hollas, and Wanda Gibson and fiancé, Shawn Gentry; two brothers, Jim Morris and wife, Dosha, and Newton Morris and fiancée, Linda; three sisters, Virginia Shifflett and husband, Juston, Linda Knapp and husband, Charles, and Frances Brown; four grandchildren, Tristan Gibson, Amanda Clemmons, Sarah Clemmons, and Trey Clemmons; four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family offers their deep gratitude to Hospice of the Piedmont and to Betty’s special friend, Carolyn Douglas, for their loving care and attention. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Hill & Wood Funeral Home – Greene Chapel, 15075 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, Va.

, with Pastor Terry Jewell officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, and then a reception at the Stanardsville Fire Department. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Hill & Wood – Greene Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Betty’s honor to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911, hopva.org.
