Alice May Honenberger July 11, 1923 – December 07, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries Alice May Honenberger passed away Friday evening, December 7, 2018 in Charlottesville, VA at the age of 95. She was born in Richmond, VA, the oldest child of Edward F. and Merie Virginia Sinnott. Alice May was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Elmer J. Honenberger, Jr

She was the sister of the late Patricia Anne Sinnott Singleton and Edward F. Sinnott, Jr. both of Richmond, Va. She is survived by her daughters, Mary D. Moster of Crozet, VA and Carol A. Aasheim of Gainesville, FL and her son, Christopher J. Honenberger of Tappahannock, VA; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Raised in Richmond, VA, Alice May attended Richmond Professional Institute, where she studied interior design; danced with a company associated with the Richmond Ballet and volunteered with civic and charitable groups within the Richmond community including The Little Sisters of the Poor and the Knights of Columbus Military Support Center, where she met her husband while acting as a hostess at a KOC open house.

She was a member of St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Charlottesville, and previously was an active member of Holy Comforter Catholic Church, where Alice May was involved with the community soup kitchen. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a person of strong personal faith, she left a legacy of love of God, family and community. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
