Babiec, Peter F., 82, of North Attleboro (formerly Pawtucket) passed peacefully on September 20, 2018. Born in Pawtucket, RI to Peter and Appolonia Babiec, Pete was the loving husband of Edwina M. (Gugel) Babiec for 60 years. Besides his wife, Pete is survived by his daughters, Dianne Dalton and her husband Daniel of North Attleboro and Susan Goodwin and her husband Charlie of Pittsburgh, PA.

He also leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Peter Timothy, Alexander and Kate Goodwin. He had a special relationship with Edwina’s siblings Edward (Judy) Gugel Jr. and Mary (Dennis) Martins. He was predeceased by his four brothers John, Stanley, Benny and Frank and Edwina’s sisters Helen LaFreniere, Anna Lucas and Dianne Gugel.

He graduated from Pawtucket East and went on to graduate from RIC (1965) and earn a Masters degree from SUNY Potsdam. He served in the US Army before spending his life teaching math and science at Coelho Middle School. He was actively involved in many organizations, most notably the Pawtucket Community Players for over 50 years.

He was also a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus and a communicant of St. Leo the Great and St. Mark’s. Pete’s kindness, gentleness and smile will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Pete’s memory, to the Pawtucket Community Players Scholarship Fund, PO Box 2302, Pawtucket, RI 02861 or Tockwotton Home Wishing Jar Program, 500 Waterfront Dr, E Providence, RI 02914.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 28th at 10:00 am, St. Mark’s, 105 Stanley Street, Attleboro Falls. Interment will follow at Swan Point Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, 4-7 p.m., Manning-Heffern Funeral Home, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket.

The family requests that anyone wishing to attend the funeral not go to Manning-Heffern Funeral Home but meet at the church Friday morning.
