Phoebe Young McLeod age 90 passed away Tuesday, Mar. 26th at the The Clinton Presbyterian Community. She was born in Newberry, SC and was the daughter of the late Helen Epting Minick.

Mrs. McLeod worked as a switchboard operator with Southern Bell, with Sears and Roebuck as a sales clerk, the Clinton First Baptist Church as a Pre-school Teacher, where she was also a church member. Surviving are her sons, Jimmy Young and Susan, Calvin Young and Melanie all of Clinton; daughters, Susan Smith and Mike of York, SC, Kristy Gambrell and Chad of Clinton; eight grandchildren, Jim Young and Jennifer, Jeffrey Young and Ashley, Michael Young and Marji, Allyson Sherer and Daniel, Grayson Smith and Katie, Carolina Ellis and Brodie, Mason-Paige Gambrell, Trenton Gambrell and sixteen great grandchildren. Phoebe was predeceased by her two husbands, Edgar Mason Young, Jr. and John Robert McLeod.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Mar. 29th at 3:00 P.M. at the Clinton First Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. Blake Harwell, burial will be at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.

The family will greet friends at the church in the sanctuary from 1:00 to 2:45 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Clinton First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 95, Clinton, SC 29325 or the Clinton Presbyterian Community, Clinton, 801 Musgrove St., SC 29325. The family will be at the home of her son, Jimmy Young, 201 Chestnut St., Clinton, SC 29325.
