Obituary of Phyllis Bylund Phyllis E. Bylund, 87, formerly of Palm Desert, CA, died Monday April 9, 2018, in the Lutheran Retirement Home. A Jamestown native, she was born August 29, 1930, a daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Carlson Bylund. She was a 1952 graduate of Milliard Fillmore School of Nursing, Buffalo.

Prior to her retirement she was employed by Desert Hospital, Palm Springs, CA as a registered nurse in the operating room. She was a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses and a former member of the Vikings Lodge. In her spare time she enjoyed designing clothing, painting china and furniture and watching hummingbirds.

The family wishes to thank the staff of A2 at the Lutheran Home for the wonderful care Phyllis received. Surviving are several cousins including Cindy (Bill) Buck, Linda (John) Lunetta and Dave Chili all of Jamestown. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Lois Bylund.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home Saturday. Due to extreme allergies flowers are gratefully declined.
