HAZZARD – Prudence Faith Hazzard, 56, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 28, 2018 surrounded by her loving family after a long, courageous battle with lung disease, and post lung transplant complications, demonstrating immeasurable strength, hope and love. She was the loving wife of Keith Hazzard for 31 years. Born August 31, 1962 in Winsted; the daughter of the late James and Dolores (Calder) Mannion.

Pru was a homemaker for her children and also held various administrative positions… Read More » throughout the years. She was an amazing wife, mom, nana, sister, “Aunt Angie” and friend to many. Her example of bravery was recognized by all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed. In addition to her devoted husband, she leaves her cherished children, Craig J. Hazzard, of Winsted, Nicole Youman and husband Chad of NC, and Desiree Hazzard of Winsted; grandchildren, Steffanie, Shayna, Erik, Jonathan, Mackenzie, Whitney, Craig, Jr., David, Dylan, Kaleb and Kaiden; great grandchildren, Reid, Oliver and one little girl on the way; sister, Nancy “Deb” Decker and husband Norman of Winsted; aunts, Judy Schleiger of CO, and Joyce Mannion of Torrington; brothers-in-law, Mark Hazzard and wife Adeline of Winsted, Jay Hazzard and wife Tina of Torrington; sisters-in-law, Kimberly Hazzard and Sue Belle Isle, both of Winsted; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Dennis Craig Belle Isle.

Friends and family may call on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 5 – 7 PM with a memorial service at 7 PM. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The American Transplant Association.
