Prudence Kielland Pecorella of Bonita Springs, FL died January 16, 2019 peacefully at home with family by her side after an extended battle with cancer. Prue is survived by her loving husband and partner of over 58 years, Matteo, her beloved daughters Tracy Pfeil and Sherry Romagnola, grandchildren Casey (Philip) Randall, Nikole (Christopher) Olson, Jamieson Pfeil, Jordan Pfeil, Dylan Romagnola and Madison Romagnola, and great-grandchildren, Kaylee Randall, Kelsey Randall, Jacob Randall, Brayden Olson and Brynlee Olson She is also survived by her sister-in-law Frances Oakes, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Charles (Phyllis) Pecorella, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father (Edmund Jamieson) in 1942, mother and father (Marian Frank Jamieson Kielland and Lief Kielland) in 1982 and sister-in-law Shirley Pecorella Coffey.

Prue was born in Fawn River, MI on April 25, 1939, spending her early childhood there, including losing her father at age 3, before moving to Connecticut with her mother and adoptive father as an adolescent. She graduated from Emma Willard School in Troy, NY, later attending the University of Connecticut and SUNY Potsdam, where she met her husband to be, Matt. They were married on June 25, 1960 moving to VA, Western NY, The Bahamas and eventually settling in Brockport, NY.

A young wife and mother, she still became active in her communities and politics including being named Jayncee of the Year (1962-1963) in Lewiston, NY, Brockport Junior Women’s Club, Chairperson of the Town of Sweden Republican Committee and member of the Monroe County and NYS Republican Committees. She was also a member of the Barefoot Beach Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an avid golfer and snow skier as a member of the Ridgemont Country Club in NY, Shadow Wood Country Club in FL and formerly of the Holimont Ski Club in NY.

Her highest priority has always been her family and friends. No prior calling hours or visitation. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Celebrations of Prue’s life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to either: H.
