Rachel’s Obituary Rachel Inez McClain Brewer, age 84, went home to the arms of her Savior on December 18, 2018 in the Mullins Nursing Center. She was born February 22, 1934 in Abbeville, South Carolina. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was predeceased by her husband, William C. Brewer. She was the mother of six children. Her daughter, Kathy E. Potter and her son, Randy K. Brewer, whom also predeceased her.

Her children surviving her are William “Earl” Brewer from Cottontown Tennessee, Brenda B. Hardwick (Bobby) of Gallivants Ferry, South Carolina, Danny L. Brewer (Kathy) of Laurinburg, North Carolina and Lynn B. Lowery (Michael) from Greer, South Carolina. She has fourteen grandchildren, David, Kim, Gina, Christie, Timmy, Jenifer, Leslie, Buddy, Candace, Tobie, Robbie, Caleb, Amanda and Rachel (B.B.). She has twenty-five great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren.

She was the “baby” of 10 children born to Carl and Evie McClain, one sister, Lizzie Mae Miller, and eight brothers, Colie, Furman, William (Bill), Alfred, Charlie, Cleo (Little Fat), Theo (Big Fat), and Vester McClain, all who predeceased her. She loved people and loved going “dancing” with her close group of friends. She was quite a Rummy player too!

We will miss her sweet smile and hugs, but most of all the way she took care of all of us. Visitation will be on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Cox-Collins Funeral Home, 715 S. Main Street, Mullins, South Carolina 29574. The funeral service will be held at the Chapel at Cox-Collins at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 22, 2018.

Graveside services will follow at Devotional Gardens on Highway 76, Mullins, South Carolina. The family wants to thank the nurses and staff at the Mullins Nursing Center who took such great care of our mother. Her last wish was to go “home” because she always said “They love me there and take such good care of me”.

Also, a special thanks to all those who prayed for our family. We love you all!
