Sylba’s Obituary Mrs. Sylba Grainger Byrd died on December 28, 2018 in Elizabethtown, NC after an extended illness. She was born on October 20, 1936. Sylba was the daughter of the late William Earle and Hilda Grainger of Pleasant View, SC.

She had one son the late William Guy (Bill) Hamilton and her husband was the late Robert S. Byrd. She survived by a sister, Judy Dinkins, of Elizabethtown, NC; and a brother, Danny Grainger of Pleasant View, SC. One additional brother was the late James Carlyle Grainger of Pleasant View.

Sylba was retired from Mohawk Industries Dixiana Mills in Dillon, SC. She was a member of the Mullins First Baptist Church and was a member of the choir. A graveside service will be held Monday, December 31 at 2:00 P.M. in Red Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with Rev.

Jim Kirkland officiating. The services are being directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bladen East Assisted Living, 804 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown, NC 28337.
