Ralph Wilson December 24, 1934 – March 01, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Ralph Egbert Wilson was born to Grace and Samuel Wilson on December 24, 1934. He was raised by his maternal grandparents, Albertha and James E. Lashley. Ralph served in the Air Force from 1952-1956.

He worked for the United States Post Office, but his love and passion was his lucrative career as a conductor for New York Transit Authority. He worked until his retirement in 1989. In March 1965, Ralph married Carol Wilson and from this union their daughter, Dawn was born.

In later years he met his soul mate, Peggy Gardiner. On October 31, 1998, Ralph and Peggy were joined in holy matrimony. With this union Ralph became the proud and loving father to two additional daughters, Phaedra and Makeda.

Ralph, or “Mousie” as he was affectionately called by family and friends enjoyed socializing, jazz, watching his favorite football team the “Jets”, old war and western movies and eating good food. His daily favorites were playing his numbers, a Pepsi, and pineapple soda. In 2015, he became ill with Dementia which progressed to Alzheimer’s.

He departed this life on March 1, 2019 at the V.A. Hospital in St. Albans, Queens. Left to rejoice with special memories of love are: his wife, Peggy; daughters, Dawn, Phaedra (Ifyi), and Makeda (Warren); grandchildren, Jade, Latashia, Tedrick (Jalessa), Adaeze and Nene; great-grands, Cameron and Mckenzie; mother-in-law, Joyce; sisters-in-law, Ranee, Louise, Sharon and Dolores (Samuel, preceded in death); nieces, Desiree, Karen, Helen and Ginnie; loving cousin, Cecile (George); and a host of nephews, relatives and friends.
