Anthony Bernard Greene October 14, 1963 – March 02, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook A Time to Be Born Anthony Bernard Greene was born to Margaret Montgomery and to the late James Oscee Greene on October 14, 1963 at the Metropolitan Hospital in New York City. Anthony was known to some as “Tone” and to others as “Styme”. A Time to Love Words cannot begin to express the special love Anthony had for his family and how his family greatly loved him.

Anthony married his sweetheart, Patricia in 1999 and they remained friends until his passing. Anthony’s love also extended to his faithful neighbors on 122nd Street, upper Manhattan. In fact, on the Block he was unanimously named “The Mayor”.

A Time to Plant Anthony graduated from Martin Luther King High School. He was employed with the NYC Department of Sanitation where he worked until he retired. His greatest contribution and dedication to New York City was when he worked tirelessly during 9/11 at the World Trade Center.

He will always be remembered for his sense of humor. But more importantly, throughout his trials and tribulations, he always kept God in his heart. A Time to Die If you knew Anthony, you knew he was a fighter.

Anthony continued to beat the odds of the medical teams no matter which hospital he was in. When the diagnosis was bleak and they predicted that his life would soon end––God said “No”, and Anthony agreed with God. When God’s assignment for Anthony was complete on March 2nd, the Lord was passing by and He sent one of His angels to personally escort him home.

A Time to Mourn Anthony leaves behind to cherish his memory: his loving mother, Margaret Montgomery; his wife and friend forever, Patricia Greene; his children, Shawna Dunning-Greene, Kiamesha Greene, Anthony Greene and Jaquan Greene; and his siblings, Jennifer Meachem, Janet Reaves, Bernice Marshall, Jimi Starr Greene, Sherill Goodson, Jerry Greene and Chapelle Greene. Anthony also leaves to mourn: his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Anthony’s family will never forget his longtime loyal friend, who helped to take care of Anthony when Anthony needed it most, Ryan “Uno” Diaz.

Uno, the family will always be indebted to you.
