Obituary of Ralph Craig Ralph Orville Craig, 87, Marion, passed away at 7:42 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Marion General Hospital. He was born in Marion on November 5, 1930, to Moses Griffin and Leafy (Shepherd) Craig. On June 2, 1954, he married Edeltraut H.E. Pletz, and she survives.

Ralph was a U.S. Army veteran who served 23 years, 6 months, and 1 day! He served in Korea, Germany, and France and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. During his time in the military, he dedicated all of his time and funds to caring for his family.

Following his military service, Ralph worked at and retired from Es Wire, where he was a security guard. He was an avid ham radio and CB radio enthusiast. He enjoyed being outside, especially mowing the lawn.

Ralph was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edeltraut; daughters, Marilyn (Robert) Bussert, Marion, and Linda (Bernd) Weirich, Marion; grandchildren, Angela (Erich) Sherlock, Nevada, Nina (Adam) Hughes, Marion, Sonya Weirich, Marion, and Rikki Fuchs, Jonesboro; 7 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; grandson, Michael; great-grandson, Benjamin; two sisters, Elizabeth and Ethel; and several friends.

The family will receive visitors from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave. , Marion. Services to celebrate Ralph’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the funeral home with brother in Christ, Randy Thomason, officiating.

Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to Marion-Grant County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1921, Marion, IN 46952. Online condolences may be made at www.
