Raymond C. Steffner II, 71, died Sunday, July 1, 2018 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was born November 3, 1946 in East Cleveland to Raymond C. and Helen (Clotz) Steffner. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Anne Marie.

He is survived by his children Paul Steffner, Rachel (Micheal) Huntley, sister Linda (Frank) Anderson, cousins, nieces and nephews. In the 1950’s his family and the Mainwarings (his aunt, uncle and cousins) moved to Streetsboro. Both families were active in the church, schools and community.

Ray graduated from Streetsboro High School in 1964. He continued his education at Kent State University and earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in industrial arts education. He taught at Ravenna High School for 32 years.

He enjoyed teaching drafting, graphic design and photography. Sports, especially baseball and softball, were an important part of his life. As a young person he played both and as an adult he played and coached both at the high school and in community leagues.

In additiom he owned Windbreak Nursery in Streetsboro specializing in growing and selling Christmas trees. Memorial calling hours will be from 4 PM to 8 PM Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. Cremation has taken place, there will be no funeral services.
