Raymond L. Riesebieter, 83, of Sherrard, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at his home. A Memorial Service for Ray will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the New Windsor Presbyterian Church, 414 Walnut St, New Windsor. Memorials may be made to the New Windsor Presbyterian Church or to the Sherrard Fire Department.

Raymond was born October 20, 1935 in Galva, a son of Albert and Marie (Horkstrom) Riesebieter. He married Phyllis Weaver on June 25, 1955 in Altona. Ray served his country in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and worked for Navistar/ International Harvester for many years, retiring in 1995.

Ray was a member of the New Windsor Presbyterian Church, Lions Club and the Sherrard Fire Department. He enjoyed working on lawn tractors and fishing; but he loved spending time with his family, especially at family cookouts and picnics. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Phyllis; children, Rick (Cecilia) Riesebieter, Coal Valley; Tonda Tucker, Moline; Shirene (Steve) Greer, Sherrard; Micha Riesebieter, New Windsor; grandchildren, Jason, Anita, Dee Anna, Rhiannon, Nathan and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Brenton, Tianna, Derrick and Lucien, Lauren; and sisters, Martha and Geneva.
