Big Stone Gap, VA Retha Jane Rogers Long, 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday (March 17, 2019) at Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; she was a blessing to all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents Evart Rogers and Venus Gilliam Rogers, a brother Alfred Rogers and an infant brother and sister.

She is survived by her children; David (Kim) Long, Darrell Long, Stacey Bishop (Donny), Jerry (Mary Jo) Long; all of Big Stone Gap, Wayne (Sue)Long of Appalachia, grandchildren; Brooke Long, Tesa Long and Cameron, Long 11 more grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren; brothers Hobart Rogers of Big Stone Gap, Clay Rogers, Carson Rogers (Dianne), J.B. Rogers (Patricia) all of South Hill VA, sisters; Eula Davis South Hill VA, Shirley Chandler of Crackers neck, Cleta (Danny) McCracken of Big Stone Gap, Evelyn Bloomer (Lester) of Dryden VA, several nieces, nephews, other close relatives and friends. The family would like to express their gratitude for all her care givers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday (March 19, 2019) at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap (17 E. 3rd St. N) from 5p.m. until 7 for the visitation.

The funeral service will be conducted following in the funeral homes chapel, with Jim & Russell Herron officiating. Special music will be provided by Faith Rock, and Living Waters gospel Groups. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday (March 20, 2019) in the Jasper Community cemetery, those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Brian Bloomer, Keith McCracken, Roger Branham, Aaron Browning, Dustin Bishop, and Gerald Branham.
