OBITUARY Rev. Dennis Wayne Wood June 8, 1945 – December 11, 2018 Funeral service for Rev. Dennis Wayne Wood 73, of Weaver, will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, December 16, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Weaver with Dr. Johnny Pruitt officiating.

Entombment will follow at Maple Grove Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:30 pm until service time at the church. Rev.

Wood passed away Tuesday afternoon at RMC. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Judy Wood; daughters, Kim and husband Scott, Lori and husband Scott, and Misty and husband Joe; grandchildren, Hannah, Rachel, Hope, Grace, Scarlett, Jossalyn, Joseph, Emory and Maxximus; one brother; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews. Rev.

Wood is preceded in death by his parents, William and Colleen Wood and brother, Tommy Wood. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of First Baptist Weaver and the Carpenters Sunday School Class. Rev.

Wood served in the United States Army Military Police Corps for 21 years and retired as a First Sergeant. For over 30 years he was the owner and operator of American Awards. Rev.

Wood served as pastor of several churches in Calhoun County. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Weaver where he served as deacon, and spent one year as chairman of the deacons. He also taught Sunday School and lead the Operation Christmas Child Program at the church.

He was a volunteer chaplain at RMC and also volunteered with the Baptist Service Center. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Baptist Service Center C/O Dennis Wood. Donations can be mailed to First Baptist Church of Weaver at 407 Anniston St. Weaver AL 36277.
