Rhonda Seay Gonzalez, 60, of Beaufort, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 30, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones. The family will have a memorial service at a later date in Alabama. She served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 9 years.

She served as President of the local Horse Association of Carteret County for 5 years, and a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association where she also served on the board. She is survived by her companion, Oscar Gonzalez; daughters, Sarah Seay and husband Chris Greer of Beaufort and Samantha Gonzalez of Beaufort; mother, Martha Marlar of Scottsboro, AL; brothers, Robert Marlar of Enterprise, AL, Richard Marlar of New Market, AL and Ronald Marlar of Huntsville, AL; and grandchildren, Natasha Greer, Sophia Seay, and She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Marlar.
