Obituary for Richard A. “Dick” Collins ORRVILLE— Richard A. “Dick” Collins, age 84, of Orrville, went to be with the Lord on June 18, 2018, at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster, following a long illness. He was born on May 6, 1934, in New Pittsburg (Hocking County) the son of Walter R. and Frances E. (Garner) Collins. He was united in marriage to Wilma J. McCandlish on August 23, 1952, in Canton.

She survives. He was a graduate of Timken High School in Canton. He had been a master pattern maker for 47 years, working at National Pattern Co. in Orrville and at Rubbermaid in Wooster as a consultant.

Dick was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Orrville where he was active in the choir, and had served on the Board of Trustees and the Administrative Board. He wrote poetry, enjoyed woodworking and older cars. Dick loved his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Wilma, he is survived by sons, Daniel (Vicky) Collins of Ashley, OH and Tim (Jen) Collins of Canton; daughter, Janet (Thomas) Collins-Cutter of Lafayette, IN; grandchildren, Autumn (Shannon) Spalding, Aaron (Rachel) Collins, Alex, Patrick and Nicholas Cutter; great-grandchildren, Daphne, Ryan and Wesley Spalding, and Escher Collins; brother, Robert (Marilyn) Collins of Canton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara Klink. Services will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Orrville on Friday, June 22, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.

David Rittgers officiating. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday prior to the service.
