Richard Dale Becker, 83, died peacefully into God’s eternal care, Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Hanover Hospital. Richard was the husband of Mary Eleanor (Shriver) with whom he shared sixty-four years of marriage. Born July 15, 1934 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Alvin C. and Ella A. (Howe) Becker.

Richard was a 1953 graduate of Eichelberger High School. Richard was the proud owner of Becker’s Lawn and Garden Equipment family business for fifty-five years. Richard enjoyed reading, his computer, riding his snowmobiles and motorcycle, watching NASCAR races, football and raising Doberman puppies.

In addition to his loving wife, Mary, Richard is survived by a daughter, Deborah A. Becker and lifetime partner, James Farver of Abbottstown, and a son, Alvin C. Becker, II, of Hanover. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles H. and William Becker and a sister, Jean L. Unger. A service to celebrate and remember Richard’s life will be held Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Pastor Larry McConnell officiating.

A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Friday, July 13, 2018, at the funeral home with the service staring at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richard‘s name to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1240 Broadway, Hanover, PA 17331. The Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
