Obituary for Richard Slater Richard D. Slater, 58, of Willoughby Hills, passed away Sept. 3, 2018, at his residence. Born May 12, 1960, in Euclid, he had been a Lake County resident for 52 years.

Richard was an animal lover, especially Canadian Geese and dogs. He loved going to the duck pond, was a “gentle soul,” and loved his nieces and nephews. He was the loving son of Marjory A. (nee Findlay) Slater; dear brother of Deborah L. (Paul) Marcum of Eastlake, Valerie J. (Kevin) Murphy of Huntsville, N.C., and Cheryl A. (Sean) Huggins of Eastlake; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, William R. Slater. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave. , Willoughby, with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
