Richard L. Bungard, 86, of Elyria passed away Saturday April 7, 2018 at the Ohio Veteran’s Home in Sandusky following a brief illness. He was born January 24, 1932 in Oberlin and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Dick worked as a machinist at the Bendix-Westinghouse Company for 19 years, served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, was a member of the Elyria Moose Lodge and a life member of both the V.F.W. Post 1079 and AMVETS Post 32.

He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie in 2000. The family will receive friends Thursday 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.

(at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday April 13, 2018 in the chapel at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria, where members of V.F.W. Post 1079 will conduct full military honors.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Ohio Veteran’s Home in memory of Richard L. Bungard, 3416 Columbus Rd. Sandusky, OH. 44870.
