Richard Lee Mattox, 72 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at his home. Mr. Mattox was born on February 20, 1946 in Indianapolis, IN the son of Alvin and Phyllis Lippeatt Mattox who preceded him in death. He was a retired High School Teacher, teaching United States History and Psychology at Silver Creek High School in Sellersburg, IN.

Mr. Mattox was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Charlestown and Leader of the Southern Indiana Parkinson Support Group. Survivors include his wife Donna Longest Mattox; daughters, Kristin Cox (J. T.) of Charlestown, Kerri Vaughn (Eric) of Charlestown and Kimra Colone (Tim) of Sellersburg, IN; brothers, George Mattox of Georgetown, IN and Michael Mattox of Henryville, IN; sisters, Sally Lasley of Leopold, IN and Alice Sims of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Mattox and Isabella Colone, Maci and Ethan Vaughn, Tyson, Jalynn and Deacon Cox.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Silver Creek High School Gym with burial in Bowery Cemetery. Visitation will also be held at the Gym beginning at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday.
