of Johnston, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at RI Hospital in Providence. He was the husband of Dawn (Butler) Cardente of Johnston. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Amalia and Mary (Pullano) Cardente.

Richard was a machine operator in the pressure molding industry before retiring; and served six years in the RI Army National Guard during the Vietnam era. He was the father of Richard Cardente of TN, Lisa Farrell of OR and Jeffrey Cardente of Cranston; step-father of Dean Sampson, James Sampson and Michael Salvati, all of Providence; brother of Marlene Jack of TN; grandfather of ten; and great-grandfather of two. His Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 19th at 11 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave.

, Cranston, followed by burial at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
