Richard W. Payne Sr. 69, of Latrobe died Friday April 27, 2018 in the Bethlen Home, Ligonier. He was born December 6, 1948 in Latrobe a son of the late Howard L. Payne Sr. and Ruth E. Patterson Payne. He was a USArmy veteran having served in Germany during the Vietnam Era.

He had worked for Atrium Window Factory in Murrysville and NAPA Auto of Latrobe. He was a member of the Derry Ukes and the F&J Bow Club. He enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Howard L. Payne Jr. and William Payne. Richard is survived by his children; Richard W. Payne Jr. of Derry, Travis E. Payne (Amy) of Darlington and Shannon Zufall (Bryan) of Hostetter. His sister Phyllis Jones of Latrobe, five grandchildren; Hallie Gillespie, Sarah Tibbs, Cory Payne, Victoria Aalya (Jacob) and Tyler Tinkey.

Two great grandchildren Aaliyah Gillespie and August Lovelace. Several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday from 4-8pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry where a service will be conducted Tuesday at 10:30am.

The Latrobe-Derry Veterans Honor Guard will conduct a service Tuesday at 10:15 am in the funeral home. Online condolences may be made to www. mccabefuneralhomespa.com.
