Richard Joseph McRae, born September 9, 1961 in Sioux City, Iowa departed this world January 2nd, 2019, after a lifelong battle with Crohn’s Disease. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara J. McRae. He is survived by three children: Luke Whitfield McRae, Jacob Benjamin McRae, and Lilly Catherine McRae, and many other relatives living in Florida and Iowa.

Additionally, he is survived by lifelong friends, who stood by him to the end. He passed surrounded by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Richard was a graduate of Ed White High School in 1979, and Grace Bible College in 1984. He received a Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate of Ministry from The Masters Seminary. He was the pastor of Orange Park Bible Church in Orange Park, Florida from 1991 to 2010.

He was employed by the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary from 2013 to 2017. Even though his life was cut short, his ministry impacted an immeasurable number of lives. A memorial service will be held at Grace Community Church, 10938 Hood Road S., Jacksonville, Florida 32257, on Tuesday, January 8th at 11am.
