Robert M. Rhodes Born: June 25, 1931 in Stanley, North Dakota Died: February 7, 2019 in Fernandina Beach, Florida Funeral services for Robert Rhodes will be Saturday February 23, at 10 AM in the chapel of Jacksonville Memory Gardens 111 Blanding Boulevard Robert was a graduate of Kansas University earning a degree in Electrical Engineering. He held a Master’s degree in Engineering from New York University. Robert was a team member in Florida’s early working on the State’s Model Project for a computer based Social Information System.

He was a Korean War Veteran where he served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a professional musician, playing saxophone in many bands around the country. He was a Life Member of the IEEE, as well as a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

After retirement from the State of Florida, Rhodes was a long time resident of Amelia Island Plantation in Fernandina Beach where he leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Rea L. Rhodes, 2 sons and 2 daughters. Robert touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
