Rita Marie Fredericks, 83 of Hollidaysburg, went to be with the Lord on September 28, 2018 at the Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg. She was born in New York City, daughter of the late Frank and Teresa (Ammer) Fastenmeier. Rita married George W. Fredericks on February 1, 1958 in New York and enjoyed fifty-three happy years together before his passing on August 1, 2011.

Rita is survived by a daughter, Cara Marie Fredericks of Woodbridge, VA; a dear sister-in-law: Mary; a close cousin Robert Maidl and wife, Frances; and two special, loving friends: Stella and Bill Brooks. She graduated from Notre Dame de Sagesse High School and College, New York City, in 1953 and went on to become a Registered Nurse. She received an Associate Paralegal degree in 1957 from Washington College in New York.

Rita was a member of St. Mary Church, Hollidaysburg. She enjoyed entertaining, traveling, sewing, and had worked as a volunteer for Grand Hospice for some time. Friends will be received from 10:30 to 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Sorge Funeral Home, Inc., Hollidaysburg, immediately followed by an 11:00 am funeral service, Deacon Charles R. Ahearn officiating.

Committal will be at Alto Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Church, 312 Clark Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648 or Grane Hospice, 115 Union Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.
