Dawson, age 66, a resident of Clinton Township, Michigan passed at home on Saturday, May 25, 2019. He was born on May 1, 1953 in Detroit to Delphine (Nowak) and the late Gerald Dawson. Robert worked as an assemblyman at Chrysler Corporation for many years until his medical retirement in 1993.

Known as “Holy Moly Bob,” to many of his friends and family, he enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, Michigan Football, and closely followed the stock market. As a younger man, Bob enjoyed fishing, bowling, and baseball. He will be missed by his daughter Kelly Mechlowitz, son Kevin Dawson, and former wife and caregiver Kathy Dawson.

Bob was proud of his five grandchildren; Brooke, Benjamin, Ava, Charlotte, and James and was looking forward to the August arrival of his first great-grandson Mason Robert. He is also survived by his brother Bill (Jackie) Robinson and sisters Janis Calvin and Dawn Hammonds. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his siblings; Linda Forgeon, Lori Martin, Rick Robinson, and Mark Dawson.
