Obituary for Robert Allen Robert Allen Evans, GA – Entered into rest Monday, December 31, 2018, Mr. Robert Allen, 84, beloved husband to the late Joan Allen. Mr. Allen was born in Queens, NY to Ruth Hinley Allen and Walter David Allen in 1934. He retired from the United States Army serving in Korea and Vietnam.
He was honorably discharged in 1978 receiving multiples medals including the Purple Heart. Later on he retired as a security guard from Georgia Power at Plant Vogtle and the Augusta Country Club. He was a former member of the American Legion Post #192 in Evans.
Family members include his children: Robert Allen (Erika) of Hope Mills, NC, Kathie Hankinson (Bert) of Augusta, GA, Walter Allen (Karen) of North Augusta, SC, Raymond Allen (Julie) of Jacksonville, FL, Kelly Minus (Cal) of Harlem, GA, and Kevin Allen of Evans, GA; grandchildren: Miranda Dally-Schmitt, William Dally, Sara Allen Murray, Brittani Allen, Joshua Allen, Alexis Hankinson, BJ Hankinson, Carlisle Minus, Kayla Geeting, Leeah Geeting, and Kelli Craig; great grandchildren: Debbi Dally, Alana Allen, Paisley Christian; and beloved companion: Missy. In addition to his wife, parents, and siblings, he is preceded in death by his daughter: Deborah Dally. The funeral service will be Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son.
Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Blvd, Augusta, GA 30909.
