Robert (Bob) William Davis, 62, of Chester, WV. , passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Trinity West Valley Hospice, following a brief battle with cancer. He fought very hard and was the strongest man full of courage.

He didn’t give up until his body just couldn’t go on any longer. He was born in Bainbridge, MD. , on July 31, 1955.

He lived his whole life in Chester, WV. Bob worked in the lime area at First Energy Power Plant where he was a Senior Lime Operator. He worked there for 33 years before retiring in 2011.

Bob was a very hard worker at work and outside, always providing for his family and always making sure they were happy and well taken care of. Bob was a veteran of the United States Army and he was a graduate of Oak Glen High School Class of 1973. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was very faithful, attending Saturday night mass.

Bob was also a member of the American Legion Post #121 and the VFW post # 6450. He was preceded in death by his Mom Diane Davis, whom he loved very much and has missed every day and his very best friends, Bob Kincaid and Duke Reed. Also, his best friend, his dog Mandy Jo, who he adored and loved to take on long walks.

He had her for 20 years and is now with her again walking through beautiful fields. Bob is also survived by many close friends that have been here for our family through all of this, Gregg Rodgers, Steve Delong, Denny Morrow, Tommy Milby, Donnie Murray and Brian Wright. He is survived at his home by his loving wife, Jennifer (Nowlin) Davis, whom he married, April 23, 1978, and has spent 40 wonderful years together.

Two children, he adored, a son Bradshaw Davis of Hurricane, WV. ; a daughter, Rachel Tice and her husband Nathan of Calcutta, OH. ; sister, Terri (Steve) Kitchen of Spring, TX.

; a niece, Jackie Kitchen of Houston, TX. Also, surviving is his loving sweet dad, Bill Davis of East Liverpool, OH. He also leaves behind his two beautiful grandchildren, Brooklynn Baylee Tice 6 years old and Hunter Cole Tice 2 years old.

He enjoyed coloring with them, taking them to the playground and to the river to watch for boats and going to Chuckie Cheese and Burger King. Mostly just getting kisses and hugs and just being around them. Miss Brooklynn took care of her pappy till the very end.

Hunter and Brooklynn loved their Pap Davis and brought him so much joy. He also leaves his two fur babies behind his dogs, Bob Dog and Molly Lynn who mean the world to him. Bob was the nicest, strongest, caring husband, dad, son, father-in-law, friend, brother, and uncle.

He enjoyed going to church, golfing, watching Steeler and Marshall football, motorcycles, old-time cars and he loved to reminisce about the old times. He always lived life to the fullest until 12 years ago when he became chronically ill and has fought for many years and he never gave up. Then the past month he battled cancer and he fought hard clear to the end.

His loving wife, Jennifer has taken the best care of him through all their years together. She has amazing strength and the biggest heart ever. She took care of him and did everything she could to keep him here with us, but it was time for him to begin his new journey and he has no more suffering or pain.

Dad enjoyed sitting on the porch with his wife and dogs. Father Jeeson Stephan will preside over Catholic Funeral Rites at the Arner Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, May 30 at 1:00 p.m. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8: 00 p.m. Interment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.
