Robert (Bob) Henderson, age 80, of Mooresburg, joined the Lord in Heaven, Monday (5/13/19) at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. He was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Rogersville. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served in radiation research at Area 51 and was a Hospital Corpsman.

He was a farmer specializing in strawberries. He raised chickens and loved sharing his eggs with the community. He is survived by his wife; Joy Henderson, sons; John Henderson (Margaret) and Norman Henderson (Beth), grandchildren; Jeffrey and Jacob Henderson, niece; Alice Johnson, and sister-in-law; Dessie Holroyd.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm Thursday at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville. Military graveside services will be conducted by the US Navy and the Hawkins County Color Guard 1:45 pm Thursday (5/16/19) at Mt. Home Veteran Cemetery in Johnson City.
