Obituary for Robert M. Buetow Robert M. Buetow, 96, of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, November 3, 2018 on the anniversary of his wife’s passing. He was born October 11, 1922 in Antigo, WI, the son of August and Anna (Heller) Buetow. Robert was a graduate of Antigo High School and attended the University of Wisconsin Extension College.

He was a 2nd Lieutenant serving with the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII flying protective flights over the East Coast looking for Nazi Submarines. Robert married Betty Jane Anderson on November 11, 1944 in Langley Field, VA. She predeceased him on November 3, 2006.

Robert was formerly employed by Donohoo Furniture, ABC Supply and managed the St. Vincent de Paul Society for 18 years, retiring in 2010. He was a former member of the Beloit Lions Club and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #191. Survivors include two sons, Fritz (Barbara) Buetow of Monroe, WI and Charles (Linda) Buetow of Oak Creek, WI; one daughter, Lorraine “Rainy” (Bernard) Zickert of Beloit, WI; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; special friend, Cynthia Wilson.

The family would like to thank Beloit Memorial Hospital, Beloit Regional Hospice and especially Barb Poffenberger and Faye Evans for the great care they gave to Dad. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters and four brothers. Funeral services will be held on Robert and Betty’s wedding anniversary on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.

Inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation of remembrance will be from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service Sunday in the funeral home. Memorials may be given in his name to St. Vincent de Paul.
