Born in Goldsboro, NC on July 29, 1925, Bob died on March 19, 2019 in Greensboro, NC. He was the son of the late Dr. Edwin Rudolph Warren and Helen Creech Warren. Bob graduated from Goldsboro High School where he excelled in all sports.

He graduated from UNC where he played varsity football and baseball. Bob played professional baseball under the Detroit Tigers Organization. Bob was a WWII veteran serving in the Naval Air Corp V-5 and V-12 Naval Officer Candidate School programs.

He was a life member of Saint Paul Methodist Church, a charter member of the Goldsboro Sports Hall of Fame, a life member of the BPOE #39, and a former member of the Goldsboro Rod and Gun Club. Bob was married on December 20, 1949 to the former Nancy Anne Rawls of Raleigh, NC. He served as a regional representative of L. G. Balfour Company for 39 years being one of the top ten individual salesmen for 11 consecutive years.

Bob was an avid golfer having won the city championship and the senior championship. He is survived by his son, Robert Creech Warren, Jr. and wife Janie, his daughter Nancy W. Gillespie, six grandchildren, Noah, Nathan, and Emily Warren, Katelyn (David) Colopy, Molly and Danny Gillespie, 7 great grandchildren, 4 nephews, 1 niece. He is predeceased by his wife, Nancy, his son, Guy Rawls Warren, a brother E. R. “Red” Warren and his wife, Lee.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Saint Paul Methodist Church of Goldsboro or charity of one’s choice. The family will greet friends at Saint Paul Methodist Church after a 2:00 pm service in Bob’s honor on Friday, March 22, 2019. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.
