Obituary for Robert Detrick Robert Allan Detrick, longtime resident of Fraser, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 8, 2018. He was 75 years of age. Bob was born on April 3, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, the second child of nine children to Vernon and Helen (Muenz) Detrick.

He was a 1961 graduate of Servite High School of Detroit. Bob served our country honorably in the U.S. Navy Submarine Force during the Vietnam War. After his time of service, he married his beloved wife, Kathleen Ruth Kling, on February 3, 1968 at Resurrection Lutheran Church of Detroit.

The couple made their home in Fraser in 1976 and they were blessed with two wonderful children of whom he loved and cherished. Bob retired from At&t in the spring of 2000 after 33 years of dedicated service. He loved retirement and spent his summer months swinging a golf club and enjoying the game of golf every chance he had, along side Kathy and friends.

Bob was very active at his church, St. John Lutheran for many years. He loved being outdoors, fishing and gardening. Above all, Bob was a proud, supportive and loving family man.

He was very involved in their lives and especially adored his grandchildren. They all looked forward to their yearly vacation to Emerald Isle in North Carolina where they made so many memories. Bob understood the value of friendship and the friendship he extended was a blessing to all of us.

He will also be known for his woodworking skills, kindness, words of wisdom and “the look”. Bob will be deeply missed and his light will continue to glow in our hearts forever. Bob is the devoted and loving husband of 50 years to Kathy; dearest father of Jeffrey Allan Detrick and Kimberlee (Christopher) Hengy; cherished grandfather of Benjamin, Lauren and Julianna Detrick and Makena and Madison Hengy; beloved son of Helen and the late Vernon Detrick; dear brother of Barbara (Paul) Seger, William (Glenna) Detrick, Virginia (James) Colville, Mary Lou (Glen) Hendry,Nancy (the late Dale) Katzer, Michael (Barbara), Lawrence (Kimberly) and Richard (Patricia) Detrick; and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home on Wednesday 1pm -8pm. A funeral will be held on Thursday at 11am at St. John Lutheran Church of Fraser with addtional visitation starting at 10am. Entombment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery with full military honors.
