Robert Earl Durbin Sr. November 23, 1929 – January 28, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Robert Earl Durbin Sr., 89, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019. Robert was born on Saturday, November 23, 1929, in Cruz, Missouri, to Timothy Clinton Durbin Sr. and Mary Alice Dobbs Durbin. Robert was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, neighbor, and friend.

He was of the Baptist faith. Robert was a proud veteran of the United States Army. On July 16, 1960, Robert married the love of his life, Mary Joyce Jones.

They were married for fifty-eight years. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Timothy Clinton Durbin Sr., and Mary Alice Dobbs Durbin; daughter, Mary “Marybeth” Elizabeth Durbin; brothers, James Durbin, Thomas Durbin, and Perry Franklin Durbin Sr.; and son-in-law, Jerry Joe White. Robert is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Mary Joyce Jones Durbin, of the home; son, Robert (Paula) Durbin Jr., of Pocahontas; daughter, Karen Dell White, of Fayetteville; brother, Timothy Clinton (Glenda Faye) Durbin Jr., of Kalamazoo, Michigan; two sisters, Clara “Ellen” (James) Stafford, of Pocahontas, and Ida Mae (Sherman) Kenner, of Rockford, Illinois; grandchildren, Tommy White, of Fayetteville, Angela (Jeremy) Morris, of Biggers, Rachel (Lincoln) Carlton, of Springdale, and Robert Durbin III, of Jonesboro; great grandchildren, Rhett, Jerry Silas, Lacea, Isaiah, and Tobey.

All services will be held in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm. Robert’s funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 2:00 pm.

Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery; full military honors will be presented. Honored to carry Robert to his final earthly resting place will be Robert Durbin Jr., Robert Durbin III, Tommy White, Perry Durbin Jr., John Brown, and Jeremy Morris.
