Robert H. “Bob” McGuire, age 72 of rural Darlington, WI passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Upland Hills Hospital in Dodgeville, WI. He was born June 3, 1946 in Dodgeville, WI the son of Henry and Evaleen (Riley) McGuire. Bob graduated from Darlington High School in 1964 and went on to receive his degree in Chemistry and later an Education degree.

A year later Robert began teaching at Belmont High School where he taught math, computers, and science for 39 years until retiring in 2009. On July 6, 1999 Robert was united in marriage to Vicki E. Forbush in Darlington. Bob is survived by his wife Vicki also a retired teacher; four children: Luke (Maggie) McGuire of Calamine, WI, Ryan McGuire and Lance McGuire both of Darlington, and Elly (Larry) Baker of Barneveld, WI; two step-children: Douglas (Gina) Forbush of Alpharetta, GA and Dianne (Larry Battersby) Forbush of Parker, CO; grandchildren: Bailey and Kaylyn McGuire, Alayna, Aidan, Max, and Landon McGuire, Mya and Brady Baker, Anna and Drew Forbush, and Alex and Isaac Battersby; one brother: Tom (Jean) McGuire of Mineral Point, WI; and one sister: Mary Ellen McGuire of Platteville, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother: Ronnie McGuire. Bob cherished his family and the memories they created together more than anything else in the world. He loved computers and was especially partial to Apple products.

He truly enjoyed sharing his knowledge and love of learning with the students he taught throughout the years in both Darlington and Belmont. Bob and Vicki were both very active in the Lafayette County Food Pantry for the past six years. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

A visitation for Bob will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Main Street, Darlington). A burial of cremains will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.
