Robert Phelps February 02, 1941 – May 27, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Robert Bruce Phelps, Jr, 78, of Porterfield, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on Monday, May 27th, 2019 at Rennes Nursing Home in Peshtigo, Wisconsin. Bob was born on February 2nd, 1941, in Milwaukee , Wisconsin to the late Robert Bruce Phelps Sr and Joan (Stoltz) Reitman. He married Mary Loretta McCaig on December 15, 1972.

Bob worked as a machinist at Briggs and Stratton in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin for 33 years before retiring in 1995. He spent his retirement years enjoying the peace and quiet of the great outdoors with his beloved wife Mary, working on his train set, “fixing” things in his workshop and fishing with his brother Mike. He looked forward to visits from his son Bob and joking around with his grandchildren.

He was a kind man that was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed him. He will truly be missed by his family and friends. Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Phelps and his son, Bob (Jenny) Phelps, and his two grandchildren, Kyle and Kirsten.

He is further survived by his two sisters, Mary MacDonald, Carol (Jim) Jonovic, one brother, Mike (Sally) Phelps, and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. His family would like to thank the staff at Rennes Nursing home for their kindness while caring for him during his final weeks.
