Ronald M. Drage Kearney Resident Ronald M. Drage, 80, of Kearney, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 surrounded by family at his home in Kearney. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Chaplain Frank Parrington will officiate.

Interment will be held at Shelton Cemetery in Shelton following the service. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018 at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

Ronald Milton Drage was born on September 15, 1938 in Shelton to William V. and Ruth G. (Kneher) Drage. Ronald grew up in Shelton and graduated from Shelton High School with the class of 1956. On April 6, 1987, Ronald was united in marriage to Mary Woodruff in Kearney and the couple was blessed with eight children: Scott, Darin, Kyle, John, Dene, Sheila, Theresa and Angie.

The family made their home in Kearney, where Ronald worked as a maintenance mechanic for Good Samaritan Hospital. Ronald was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Shelton and the Eagle’s Club. He enjoyed hunting and watching Nebraska Football.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Drage of Kearney; children, Scott Drage and his wife, Christi and Darin Drage and his special friend, Kacey, all of Grand Island, Kyle Drage and his wife, Marcia of Omaha, Dene McKinney and her husband, Jim of Bend, Oregon, Sheila Kruger and her husband, Mike of Johnstown, Colorado, Theresa Wilhelm and her husband, Lee of McCook, and Angie Clauser and her husband, Bill of Loveland, Colorado; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Karen Dailey and her husband, Ron of Dix, Nebraska; along with many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Swayze; grandson, Mark Swayze; and sister, Leona Swartwood. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Ronald M.
