Ronald’s Obituary Central Bridge (Schoharie County): Ronald F. Baakman 64, of State Rte. 30A passed away peacefully on Monday March 4th at his home. Mr. Baakman was born August 15, 1954 in Doesburg, Holland a son of Gerardus and Louise (d’Laclaverie) Baakman.

He came to this country with his parents at the age of 2 and settled in the Capital District, graduating from Guilderland High School in 1975. He had recently retired from Guilderland School District as a Custodial Supervisor after 20 plus years. Ron enjoyed photography, working with his ponds and keeping fish along with racing lawnmowers with 518 LMRO.

Survivors include his children; Christopher “Chris” (Tina) Baakman of Central Bridge, Brian (Stacey) Baakman of Charleston and Heidi (Keith) Karper of Charleston, their mother; Bonnie Simkins of Delanson, 4 grandchildren; Kory Baakman, Tyson Baakman, Chyanne Baakman and Katniss Karper, his brother; Rudolph Baakman of Belvidere, NJ, his sisters; Astrid Baakman Brislan of Copenhagen, NY, Marianne Baakman Weathers of Manchester, NJ, and Beatrix Pelton of Chester, NY along with several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday, March 8th at the Langan Funeral Home, 327 Main Street Schoharie. Burial will be private.
