Jacksonville – A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Ronald David Medders, Sr., 69, will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at 2 p.m. with Dr. Garry Ragsdale officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The family requests those in attendance to wear casual attire.

Mr. Medders died on Friday, January 18, 2019, at his residence, surrounded by his family. Mr. Medders is survived by his wife, Vera Medders; three children, David (Cheryl) Medders, Clayton (Leesa) Medders, and Dusty (Reene`) Medders; one step-daughter, Laura (Billy) Parks; his mother, Velma Medders; 11 grandchildren, Shelby Epperson, Rachel Medders, Jonah Medders, Kyle Medders, Jacob Medders, Alesha Medders, D.J. Medders, Meagan Medders, Brooke Medders, Bethany Boswell, and Abrielle Parrish; four great-grandchildren, Zoey Medders, Liam Medders, Hollis Epperson, and Henleigh Epperson; three sisters, Charlotte Curvin, Sheila Hafley, and Brenda White; one brother, Pete Medders; and numerous nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Turner, Johnny Curvin, Gerry Curvin, Tommy Johnson, Leon Dodd, Mike Austin, Lamar Reynolds, Earl Sprayberry, Doug Trantham, and Dave Trantham.

Mr. Medders was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He retired from M&H Valve after working there 27 years and also owned and operated a Sawmill.

Mr. Medders loved gardening, coon hunting, and animals of all kinds. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching Westerns, Alabama football, and listening to music. Mr. Medders was preceded in death by his father, Carl Medders; his grandson, Cory Medders; and two nephews, Chet Hafley, and Josh Medders.

The family would like to give special thanks to Bayley Wilson with Amedysis Hospice for her continued support and care.
