Ronnie Jones, age 64, of Elizabethton went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 17, 2019 from the Ivy Hall Nursing Home. Ronnie was born in Michigan to the late Wanda Jean Howard Jones. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clarence and Maggie Howard, of the Hunter Community.

Ronnie grew up in the Hunter First Baptist church, later he became a member of Riverview Baptist Church. He was a 1974 graduate of Unaka High School and was made an honorary member of the Elizabethton Shrine Club on June 6, 2011. He had worked as a bagger at Food City and he enjoyed watching sports on TV and loved drinking Pepsi and eating cheese crackers.

Ronnie also enjoyed reading the Bible, books and attending church. Those left to cherish his memory include his special cousins, Dr. Keith Morley and wife Michelle, of Elizabethton, Keith Morley, II and wife Leslie, of Johnson City, Rachel Morley Reavis and husband Craig, Murfreesboro, TN, Michelle Morley Witten and husband Jason, of Dallas, TX, Sydney Elliott, of Elizabethton and Maci Elliott, of Murfreesboro, TN; numerous cousins and friends, as well as a special friend, John Colbaugh and wife Tina, of Elizabethton, also survive. A service to honor and celebrate the life of Ronnie will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 21, 2019 in the Riverview Baptist Church in Elizabethton with Reverend Mark Grubb, officiating.

Music will be provided by Kayla Storie, Joel Crisp and Karen Elliott. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the church, prior to the service on Thursday, or at the residence of Dr. Keith Morley at other times. The graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Happy Valley Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be John Colbaugh, Estel Williams, Hugh Buckles, Dr. Keith Morley, Theron Johnson, Dale Wilks, James Honeycutt and Rick Elliott. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Riverview Baptist Church and Ronnie’s school friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home at 1:15 PM on Friday, to go in procession.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to the Ronnie Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund at Riverview Baptist Church, 1419 Broad Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
