Ruby Davis Hughes, age 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 12, 2019 in Watauga. She is the daughter of the late R. B. and Cora Alice Davis. She is also preceded in death by her son Larry Hughes and eight sisters and four brothers.

Ruby was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She loved to cook and to clean the house. Those left to cherish the memory of Ruby are her husband of nearly 71 years, Walter Eugene Hughes, Jr., of the home; a son, David Eugene Hughes, Watauga; two grandchildren, Debbie Jones and husband, James of Williston, SC, and Angela Pederson of Beaver Creek, OH; and two great-grandchildren, Jase Jones and Ella Pederson.

Several nieces and nephews also survive. A Celebration of Life for Ruby Davis Hughes will be conducted on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Gary Roe, minister officiating.

Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. The graveside service will follow in the Scalf Cemetery in Watauga, TN.
